Authority reference for Saudi Arabia
Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA)
- Every device needs a Medical Device Marketing Authorisation (MDMA) before it enters the market. Laser equipment intended for cosmetic as well as medical use is covered.
- An in-country Authorised Representative is mandatory for foreign manufacturers; the submission goes to the SFDA through that AR.
- The importer must hold a Medical Device Establishment Licence, whether the importer is the AR or a separate distributor.
- The SFDA allows 35 working days for review. An MDMA is valid for up to 3 years and must be renewed before expiry.

Power and configuration check
- Voltage
- 230 V
- Frequency
- 60 Hz
- Sockets
- Type G
Saudi Arabia runs at 60 Hz. Almost every aesthetic device built in China is specified for 220 V / 50 Hz, and the parts that care about frequency — chillers, pumps, cooling fans, any motor — do not simply ignore the difference. Confirm the 60 Hz rating in writing for every unit before you order, and put it in your PI.
Route and freight check

The quotation separates preparation time from the current freight estimate. Route, carrier, transit time and destination charges are reconfirmed for each shipment.
Market questions for Saudi Arabia
- The 60 Hz mains supply is the single most common technical surprise in this market. Handle it at quotation stage, not at installation.
- The regulatory path is more predictable than the UAE's on paper — 35 working days of review — but it depends entirely on having a licensed local AR and importer in place first.
