Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) · MeDevice

  • All devices must be registered with the EDA before import. The requirement was extended to all devices in 2018, with limited exemptions.
  • A company without a presence in Egypt must appoint an Egypt Registration Holder (ERH). The ERH is also the importer of record for registered devices.
  • The EDA requires a valid ISO 13485:2016 certificate from every applicant to satisfy its quality-management requirements.
  • Applications are submitted by the ERH through the EDA's online portal, MeDevice, with the technical documentation attached.
  • Class I non-sterile devices are exempt from registration but must still be listed on the importer's record with the EDA.
